How THE BRAV collects, uses and protects your personal data — in plain language.
1. Who We Are
THE BRAV is a tactical-inspired streetwear brand based in the Netherlands, operating the website thebrav.nl. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to THE BRAV. For any privacy question you can reach us at info@thebrav.nl.
2. What We Collect
We only collect what we actually need to run the shop:
- Order data: your name, shipping and billing address, email, phone number, and order details.
- Payment data: processed securely by our payment providers — we never store your full card details on our servers.
- Account data: if you create an account, your login email and password (hashed).
- Communication: messages you send us via email, the contact form or the on-site chat.
- Marketing consent: your email address if you subscribe to the newsletter.
- Usage & device data: IP address, browser type, device, referring pages, and cookie identifiers — collected automatically to keep the site secure and improve the experience.
3. Why We Process Your Data
- To process and ship your order and provide customer support (legal basis: contract).
- To send order confirmations, shipping updates and service emails (legal basis: contract).
- To send marketing emails, but only after you subscribe (legal basis: consent).
- To prevent fraud, secure the site and comply with tax & accounting law (legal basis: legitimate interest / legal obligation).
4. Sharing With Third Parties
We share your data only with the service providers we need to run the store:
- Our e-commerce platform, which hosts the shop and processes checkout.
- Our production & fulfilment partner, which prints and ships your order (we share your name, shipping address and order contents — nothing more).
- Payment providers, to process your payment securely.
- Email & support tools, to send transactional and marketing emails.
- Analytics providers, in aggregated / pseudonymised form.
We never sell your personal data to third parties.
5. International Transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the EU/EEA. Where that happens, we rely on the appropriate safeguards under GDPR (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).
6. How Long We Keep It
Order and invoice data is kept for as long as required by Dutch tax law (currently 7 years). Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Support conversations are kept for as long as needed to help you and resolve issues.
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can withdraw consent for marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email — or by emailing us. To exercise any of these rights, contact info@thebrav.nl. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
8. Cookies
We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, and understand how the shop is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break checkout.
9. Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, secure payment providers, and access controls to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, but we do everything reasonably possible to keep it safe.
